How to tell whether your tripod is "Narrow-legged" or "Wide-legged"
for compatability with the Taylor Seamount Tripod Shelf
Method 1: Calipers
If you can use calipers, they will offer the simplest method. If your tripod has round legs, measure the diameter. If your tripod has flat sides, measure the width of the widest side.
If the measurement is 22mm (0.87 inch) or greater, choose "Wide-legged". If the measurement is less than 22 mm (0.87 inch), choose "Narrow-legged". If you don't have calipers handy, don't worry, choose from one of the methods below.
